About

Jasmine Pazzano is a storyteller with a decade of experience reporting, producing, shooting, writing, and editing compelling and creative content for all platforms.

Her investigative and enterprise journalism with Global News garnered awards from Amnesty International Canada and RTDNA Canada.

She has produced episodes of Global’s current affairs show, The New Reality, including a documentary she co-produced on some of Ontario’s sickest COVID-19 patients, who underwent rehabilitation to relearn to walk, eat, and breathe.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, she covered the top breaking international headlines and created in-depth, long-form explainers on the emerging disease.

Four years prior, Jasmine was the inaugural video journalist to report for Global Durham, helping to launch the station and telling stories of all beats, from politics to lifestyle. Her work helped create change across Durham Region’s eight municipalities — after her consistent coverage of the Clarington floods in 2017, the local government adopted a flooding response plan to aid disaster victims in the area.

Jasmine is also a versatile public speaker, moderating panels, guest-lecturing at colleges and universities, and hosting fundraisers.

She graduated with honours in 2014 from the School of Journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson), where she returned four years later to teach a digital-journalism class.
